bismillah...

A very touching Story. but it sometimes do happen in a doctor's life. something to ponder isn't?
A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery.
He answered the call asap, changed his clothes & went directly to the surgery block.

He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor.

On seeing him, the dad yelled:
"Why did U take all this time to come? Don't U know that my son's life is in danger? Don't U have any sense of responsibility?"

The doctor smiled & said:
"I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital & I came as fast as I could after receiving the call...... And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work"

"Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would U calm down? If your own son dies now what will U do??" said the father angrily

The doctor smiled again & replied: "I will say what Job said in the Holy Book "From dust we came & to dust we return, blessed be the name of God". Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go & intercede for your son, we will do our best by God's grace"

"Giving advises when we're not concerned is so easy" Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy,
"Thank goodness!, your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running. "If U have any question, ask the nurse!!"

"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some minutes so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.

The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: "His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was in the burial when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."

*Moral of the story : Never judge anyone..... because U never know how their life is & what they're going through"

healthcare center. public vs private

bismillah....

from my humble observation in a short period of 2 weeks in anaest posting, Taiping hospital..
(or perhaps an accumulations of thoughts and ideas since I'm entering this field, which now it finally able to come out from my brain.*smirk)

the issue that i would like to raise is:
-patients@relatives would pay a sum of money just to get the best service and treatment from the private healthcare facilities. but without they notice, even the privates have to send the patients to the public government hospital once the patients were in a great need of intensive care, emergency interventions etc.

the question is:
-why would they choose the privates in the first place?

the answer is:
-of course to look for the answer we would have to go back to the services provided by the government healthcare facilities. what's wrong with it? everyone knows the answer, especially those who have been receiving treatment in district clinics, outpatient clinics or the emergency units just to name a few. the inpatient would rather complaint about the food, the air conditioner, etc but rarely the treatment they receive.
-Yes i would say my statement is quite bias because not all public healthcare facilities are like that. (if you know what issue that I' talking about.) Nonetheless, it is the small things that would affect the image of the healthcare providers compared to the great contributions they have made. In conclusion, steps should be taken to improvise the customer service quality of the healthcare providers rather than to ignore the calling of the people that were gasping for a better quality healthcare services without spending large sum of money.

#people respect us for what we did, not for what we say. so practice what we preach.

*mood reflective writing. ;)

losing it the right way

OK, let me say this straight, losing weight?
not your thing ladies n gentlemen???

are you sure?? all lies isn't?
at least a piece of your heart must say go for it. right??
same goes to me of course..

but what actually the purpose of losing all the weight??

to some people, they might say to look gorgeous, to be slim and slender.

others might say because they are fat and being fat can lead to numerous dangerous diseases.

but to put it in a simple word, i would say most people want to lose some weight because they want to be HEALTHY.

health? what does it mean by health?? according to WHO, health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

but why it is so hard to lose some weight? any idea?

They are numerous good and effective options to loss weight. But the key point is, it is always depends on yourself. If you really determine and persevere to lose some weight, it might be possible.

However, it is hard to lose some weight because losing weight often involves more than self-discipline, exercise and counting calories. Achieving your weight loss goals involves knowing about the effects of age, weight set point, and genetics.

Three Factors that Contribute to the Body Shape and Size

(and make weight loss difficult)

1. Age.

Most people some how round out a little as they get older, as a result of a decreased metabolism and less movement.

Menopause can cause women to suddenly gain weight, and both men and women find that they can't eat as much as they did a few years back without gaining a few pounds! This makes it hard to lose weight.

2. Set point and metabolism.

The set point of your weight is predetermined, which means that your body stubbornly clings to a certain amount of weight. For instance my set point went i am in high school is 45 kg, that I won't gain an ounce no matter what or how much I eat back then.

On the other hand, now when I am 20 years old, my set point is 52 kg no matter how hard i try to lose it to become 45 kg again.

Physiological forces can prevent weight loss. Though I know it's possible to be thinner than I am now because once upon a time I weighed less – but it was a real struggle staying at my lowest weight. Perhaps that's the secret behind set points: it's still possible to lose weight, but just a little more difficult.

3. Genetics.

Your body shape, weight, and size is affected by your genes, making it hard to lose weight.

Studies show that adopted children are most similar in body shape and weight to their biological parents.

You see examples all around you, every day, of people looking exactly like their parents or grandparents – for better or for worse. My mother back then before she got married to my father was instead slimmer and weighted much more less than she is now. I do believe that if I did not take safety measures as early as now, i might ended up follows her footstep sooner or later.

One last question, is there anything else that is more important than your health?? no isn't? so take control of your life now and do maintain a healthy lifestyle. ^_^

it's more than just a memory.

First and foremost, I am ashamed of my life right now because is it completely 180 degree disoriented from my life back in the high school.

Back in those days i strongly believe that I'm indeed having a healthy lifestyle.
Being the class monitor, together with all the extra co-curriculum activities that i join; the Taekwando club, the Nasyid club and my favourite among all, the KRS a.k.a school youth cadet which i am the president of the club as well as the captain for the marching squad, i manage to maintain quite an impressive healthy lifestyle. Moreover, I really enjoy outdoor activities such as jungle trekking, mount climbing, flying fox, and many more.

However, after i finish my high school and now entering the medical school, my lifestyle changed completely! I no longer spend quite some time doing all the outdoor activities. Instead, i can say that now my lifestyle is a sedentery lifestyle. In the morning, i wake up, go to classes til late evening, go back home, rest for a while, study at night and go straight to bed after that. Almost everyday my life pattern is like that.

Nowadays, i always try to make up all the bad habits that i had before. I try to find some time to exercise a little bit despite the busy schedule i have. I do hope i still can get back my healthy lifestyle like when i was in high school. This is because i strongly believe that there is no other thing that is more important and precious than health. isn't?
